Painting for me is pure joy and the ultimate freedom. The freedom from today's everyday pressures and demands. The freedom to enjoy and see the beauty of all that surrounds us
Freedom to be totally one with the natural earth. There is truly beauty in all that surrounds us which I am finally seeing. I used to drive many, many miles to find a site to paint because I was overwhelmed with what I was seeing and felt I would see something better.
Western
The Paintbox Lodge is named after the Carl Rungias Studio in Baff , many years ago. It is a wonderful place to stay while in the Canadian Rockies. Great facilities and the owner Michael Sparrow is welcoming, congenial and wants you to feel at home. The Paintbox is also my Gallery in the rockies.
Landscapes
I paint "Pleine Aire" as my absolute preference but I also "Studio Paint" when I can not get outdoors and I use my sketches and photographs as reference points for future Paintings.
My motivation is to create beauty that will capture your imagination and give you a moment of reflection to a place in time that that activates your memory and takes you back and gives you that warm feeling inside. I think it feeds your soul.
My Art My Life
Painting adds the ultimate reward to my life. It gives me the opportunity to meet other artist from around North America. I enjoy workshops where I meet other artists and have a chance to share experiences. ....
